Vanishpoint Retractable Syringes and Blood Collection Tube Holders

VanishPoint® products feature automated retraction. The needle is retracted directly from the patient into the device. This pre-removal activation virtually eliminates exposure to the contaminated needle, effectively reducing the risk of needlestick injury.

VanishPoint products contain no natural rubber latex, and they are designed to be non-reusable.

Injection Devices

Retractable Technologies’ VanishPoint® syringes have been called “the gold standard for retractable needle syringes.” They are available in a variety of sizes (1, 3, 5, and 10 ml.), needle gauges, and needle lengths. The needle is automatically retracted from the patient into the barrel of the syringe when the plunger is fully depressed. This pre-removal activation virtually eliminates exposure to the contaminated needle, effectively reducing the risk of needlestick injury.

VanishPoint® syringes utilize a patented friction ring mechanism that permits automated retraction of the needle once the plunger is fully depressed. The mechanism is passive, requiring no additional steps. The safety feature is an integral part of the device’s design. VanishPoint syringes allow for single-handed activation.

VanishPoint® syringes are easy to use and require minimal training. After activation, they require less disposal space than most other syringes and prevent disposal-related needlestick injuries. They contain no natural rubber latex and are designed to be non-reusable.

VanishPoint® U-100 insulin syringes allow for accurate measurement in one-unit increments. VanishPoint® tuberculin syringes have no components that could interfere with low-angle insertion that is necessary for intradermal injections. VanishPoint® allergy syringe trays contain 25 syringes each.

Blood Collection Devices

The VanishPoint® blood collection system features a blood collection tube holder and a small diameter tube adapter. The needle is automatically retracted from the patient when the end-cap is closed after the last tube has been removed. This pre-removal activation virtually eliminates exposure to both ends of the contaminated needle, effectively reducing the risk of needlestick injury. The tube adapter adapts a small blood collection tube to the VanishPoint blood collection tube holder.

VanishPoint blood collection tube holders are compatible with standard, multiple-sample blood collection needles. VanishPoint blood collection tube holders allow users to keep both hands behind the needle when activating the retraction mechanism. The single-use holder complies with safety regulations and prevents needle removal.

IV Catheters

The VanishPoint® safety IV catheter utilizes patented automated retraction technology similar to that of the VanishPoint® syringe and blood collection tube holder. It is easy to use and allows for one-handed venipuncture. It contains an integrated safety mechanism that, when activated, quickly retracts the introducer needle, which remains safely retracted inside the housing until disposal, substantially reducing the risk of a needlestick injury.

Unlike other IV catheters, VanishPoint® IV catheters do not require additional components such as sliding sheaths, metal clips or activation buttons. VanishPoint® catheters are available in a variety of sizes, each color-coded according to international standards to indicate the catheter gauge.
